Deepak Gullapalli braved the gutsy conditions to win the top honours of the inaugural Raine & Horne, Dubai Invitational Golf event at Boulder Hills Golf and Country Club here on Monday.
He scored 65 nett in the single Peoria system to win top place while A Sridhar (66.8 nett) and Dinesh Kumar (68.8 nett) finished at second and third respectively in the event that saw 50 participants.
Talking after his victory, Deepak said that he had to battle the conditions and put up his best for his victory. “The conditions were a little tough here. I had to play my best to come out victorious. I feel happy to win the inaugural event. And the course has improved a lot. It is much better than what it was a couple of years ago when I played here,” he said.
Deepak received a two-night stay at the Bvlgari Hotels and Resorts while runner-up Sridhar took a dinner for two voucher. Dinesh received a brunch for two at the Nikki Beach in Dubai.
